You and your family are welcome to hike and explore our property and play yard games in our big open valley (please just be mindful of the private property located to the south!). Our cabins are spaced out to create privacy and seclusion, and we are tucked back in a valley to eliminate road noise and the busyness of the area — while still offering a location that is minutes from the main attractions and monuments in the area. Find the "secret table" for an unforgettable view, or enjoy the company of our free ranging chickens!

Hinterwood is nestled in a quiet valley in the Black Hills of South Dakota and is centrally located to all the nearby attractions, including a 7.3 mile drive to the Mt. Rushmore National Monument. The property encompasses nearly 20 acres bordered by Black Hills National Forest to the North and East. Guests can walk right out their front door for a beautiful hike on the National Forest, or roam the wide open valley and granite outcroppings of Hinterwood.
